Tour and Context discussion- Loose Parts Through the Years
Certificate of Attendance available
Loose Parts through the Years: At St. Paul’s Childhood Center we utilized loose parts in all of our classrooms. After participating in the Loose Parts Summit in November 2021 we have made an even bigger push to utilize more loose parts and less traditional toys. For our presentation we will be sharing with you all how this transition is going, what changes we have seen and if we feel it is sustainable. We also have created a specific loose parts room where classrooms are able to go and use for a week, allowing them to create and explained on ideas that maybe couldn’t be left out in the classroom. We are doing this with all ages, infants-age 5 and for the summer k-2 also. We will also be taking a look at how the use of these materials changes through the years. For example cardboard tubes in the infant/toddler rooms are going to look different than in our preschool rooms.
